George Affleck – General Manager

George (email: gm@bccommunitynews.com) oversees the management of the association. He has 20 years of experience in journalism, non-profit management and marketing communications. He has been with the BCYCNA since 1998.

Kerry Slater – Manager, Special Projects

Kerry’s (email: kerry@bccommunitynews.com) main role with the association is as director of the annual Ma Murray Community Newspaper Awards Gala. Along with running the competition itself, including securing judges and managing entries, Kerry also oversees sponsorship and all event logistics and collateral. She has been with the BCYCNA for over eight years.

Connor Barnsley – Communications and Member Services Manager

Connor (email: info@bccommunitynews.com) manages the association’s membership, communications, website, newsletter/blog, professional development and scholarships. Connor also assists with all aspects of the annual Ma Murray Community Newspaper Awards Gala.

Cora Schupp – Accounting & Community Classifieds Manager

Cora (email: accounting@bccommunitynews.com) has experience “on both sides of the desk” with business financial management. She ran her own successful companies for many years and has been in charge of inventory, human resources, purchasing, shipping, and all full cycle accounting duties. At the BCYCNA, Cora handles all accounting as well as the Community Classifieds program.
